Dr.Perricone No Concealer Concealer- REVIEW

I already had a concealer I loved (Makeup Forever shade 1) but being the way that I am, I read about this one and seeing as how it got rave reviews I just HAD to go buy it.

Here is the description from the Perricone website:

Featuring broad spectrum UVA and UVB, non-chemical, mineral-based SPF 35 protection, this concealer treats skin while concealing discoloration, dark circles, imperfections. Ideal for reviving tired looking eyes, as well as an eye lid primer for smooth, long-wearing makeup. This crease-proof, long wearing, and easily blendable concealer comes in one shade suitable for most skin types. This non-drying formula is fully loaded with anti-aging ingredients that deliver results both instantly and overtime.

BENEFITS

- Instantly camouflages imperfections and dark circles.
- Softens fine lines and delivers powerful anti-aging benefits with Neuropeptides and Vitamin C ester.
- Great primer for eye make-up; longwearing and extends makeup wear time.
- Crease-proof, non-drying with one universal shade for most skin tones.
- Protects with broad spectrum UVA and UVB, non-chemical, mineral based SPF 35.

Sounded foolproof to me,especially the part about it being suitable for most skin shades. I was really excited, I had a huge old zit on my chin, put some on in my bathroom lighted mirror, and I was looking pretty good. So I get in my car, pull down the mirror in the sun visor like always, and HOLY ORANGE BATMAN! I had a massive orange spot on face where my zit was! I was running late, there was absolutely no way I could go back in and take it off. I had to go around for 3 hours with a huge orange spot on my face. It was really bad. So, I learned two lessons that day, the bathroom light is totally different than outdoor light, and this concealer does NOT work for my skintone. Oh, it smells weird too.

I purchased this at Sephora for $45.  Thankfully they refunded my money.

Ipsy...I'm on the Fence...

So, I had cancelled my membership to Birch box because it had turned out to be a colossal disappointment for me. I heard about this other one called Ipsy through some other Bloggers on Twitter, so I signed up. It seemed really cool because you get high end cosmetics in a make-up bag monthly. The cost is only $10, and looking at their website at past bags it seemed pretty cool. Their website is here: Ipsy .

I received my bag yesterday and I am on the fence about it. It came in this pretty pink padded envelope, which the girl in me LOVED.

When I opened it up, this is what I found.

Now I will admit I did get a little excited about the make-up brush. I am always looking for new brushes and this one is different from anyone I have ever seen. It had notches in the top part of the handle for your fingers to rest in to make it easier to manipulate. I LOVE IT! I forgot to add it is a concealer brush, a medium sized one, and I have a Mount Rushmore on my chin right now so it will get used this weekend.
 Here is another photo.

You can see here how my thumb and forefinger rest in the grooves? It is just great.

Here's the rest of the bag.

Sorry I repeated the brush again, but I got a bottle of this tomato red nail polish,Josie Maran Argan oil, Big Sexy Hairspray, and Pacifica  Body butter mini.

I don't like the color of the polish. It's weird, like a tomato. LOL. I don't see myself using it,honestly.

The Josie Maran item I was happy about. Her items are high quality, and work very well. The great thing about it is it its versatility. You can use it on your skin, and your hair, or put some in your bathwater!  I will definitely use this, and appreciate having this included in the box.

The Big Sexy Hair hairspray is just a big blah for me. I mean,it's always nice to have a bottle of hairspray laying around, but to me, this is just nothing special.

Pacifica Body butter mini in Tuscan Blood Orange. This stuff smells divine. I mean it smells GOOD. I just wished I used lotion more often. Also there was no seal on my lotion, and I just have this issue with there being no seal on my beauty products.WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??

All in all, it wasn't a bad bag, I'm definitely looking forward to next months, to see what they have in store for me. LET'S DO THIS IPSY!

Mama Loves her Lipgloss!

If it's one thing I have a weakness for, it's lipgloss, and to a lesser extent, lipstick. There's just something so empowering about grabbing that little tube out of your purse and transforming your pout!

When it come to lipgloss, I like it to have a nice scent, not too sticky, and a little bit of flavor doesn't hurt. I also like alot of sparkle. I don't care if I'm going to Target or out to dinner, I like my lips to be shiny and pretty. How about you, what do you prefer?

I have a pretty good stash, and my daughter is jealous. I love my stash, I'm proud of it, and I USE it!!

BEHOLD....the 66 lipglosses that I love.

So as you can see, Mama loves her lipgloss. What do YOU love?

Giving Credit Where It's Due...

When I was trying to think of a name for this blog, I couldn't think of anything! I came up with a name or two but they were already taken. Hubby even came up with a name I LOVED but it was taken too!

So my good friend Jessie and I put our heads together, and in about 30 seconds Jess came up with the name you see here. I LOVED it. She's my genius. I adore her.

Thank you Jess.

HELLO! MUA Cosmetics!

Recently I discovered MUA Cosmetics on Twitter.I'd been hesitant to try them because they are based out of the UK and with the shipping costs and everything I just didn't want to spend the money. Well, right before Christmas they had a 40% off sale , which included some free nail polishes,so guess who got suckered in? LOL... So I ordered a palette of eyeshadows and 2 fun lip products they call lip booms!

Lets look at the shadow.

MUA Makeup Academy Professional Immaculate Collection.

I really like this shadow. The selection of color is awesome, it goes on nice and smooth and is well pigmented. It has very nice shimmer without the fallout.  It's hard to see in my photo but on the back it gives a suggestion for a green "eye" and I gave it a whirl. I thought it turned out SO pretty! Excuse my wonky eyebrows.

I'm looking forward to playing with this shadow and creating more fun looks.

MUA Makeup Academy LipBoom Lipstick and Highlighting Gloss.

These are so much fun! They come in one piece, but in 2 sections, matte lipstick and uber-glittery highlighting gloss.

I bought two shades, a red and a neutral. They are both very pretty! The lipstick is a little on the dry side, but it isn't terrible. I just put a little bit of balm on under it.
Here is the red by itself.

My flash kinda washed it out,it is a nice hot red, very good for a night out. it looked good with my red hair.I was happy with it.

Here is it with the glitter gloss coat.

I wish my camera had captured how dramatic the difference was. There is some serious glitter and bling in the gloss.I LOVE IT!

Here is the neutral.

Again,my camera washed it out,the color is darker, peachy pink.So pretty and would look good and most anyone.

Here is it with the gloss.

I'm so sad my camera didn't get the sparkle of this gloss. It is just pure glam and glitter, and you know me at all,you know I like glitter.

I cannot wait to MUA to have another sale, because this girl is going to be HAPPY!

Lets Talk about Another Subscription Service...Glossybox!

I really like Glossybox. It differs from BeautyBox5 in that it features higher end products, so the price reflects that. ( $21 a month, including shipping)  I have always been pleased with what I have gotten, and when I had an issue with a defective product once, they replaced it for me. Great customer Service. They even host twitter chats once a week, and I won a prize!

This months box was a holiday box, titled "Glamour,Glitz, and Gloss",and boy was it pretty!

I think I got ahead of myself a little bit here though. Where you open up there box, this is what you see.
They always include a Glossymag with each box.Its pretty cool!

Nice already, huh? Anyway, open it up and this is what you see:

I love that cute Christmassy tissue paper. Is that a word? Oh well it is for today. So lets see whats under that CHRISTMASSY paper.

Please excuse the bad lighting in this pic. That's what I get for trying to be all fancy.

Lets look at all the items.

Denise Richards Volume Extend by Cristophe-Finishing Spray
Tested and approved by celebrity hair stylist Christophe, this gentle yet firm finishing spray provides a touchable hold all day long without build up. A proprietary blend of five unique ingedients maximizes volume, thickness, and shine. Paraben and sulfate free. $20 for 10 oz.

I tried this spray and it worked for awhile, but it didn't hold up.I do have very thick heavy hair,so that could be why.I didn't really like the smell either.

Zoya Nail Lacquers. These uniquely ornate nail laquers will transform your nails into jewels. The long-wearing and toxin-free formula will keep your nails sparkling all season and looking their glossy best. $8

I was SO EXCITED when I opened my box and saw this.I am a sucker for sparkle and this just made me so happy. I tried to capture a photo of my fingernail with it on.I promise you I am NOT giving you the bird.

My camera just wouldn't capture the true sparkle of this polish, though I do have it on top of a darker shade. It is brilliant.I love it. Makes the whole box worth it. YAY!

Ok,moving on...

Ok, I'm going to be brutally honest with you here.I hated this.I thought it smelled terrible. I'm very picky about perfumes so it might be unfair of me to judge, but, just YUCK.

Bath Salts
HEARTLAND FRAGRANCE CO.
Indulge in healing aromatherapy with these 100% pure Epsom bath salts. Trest yourself to a full body boost with these herb infused accents in your bathing routine. Use
weekly to dramatically reduce tension and refresh your skin. $10/30 oz

This is a HUGE sample. I am very happy with this. You could smell it before even opened the box.I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I am very much looking forward to it.

Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier.
Style Primer.

I don't know much about this item.It wasn't listed on the card on my box.It seems to be almost like a styling gel or mousse? Who knows. The sample is so small it wont even be enough for all of my hair.Oh well.

Mark Lipclick Luxe Lipstick

Powerment Petal

Isn't this is the prettiest pink lipstick? I love it! It actually looks good on my fair, redheaded mug! The cool thing about it is,the lid is magnetic and it clicks when you put it on,you can hear it! Thus the Lipclick! Another winner for me.

Last, but not least for the "Glamour,Glitz, and Gloss" Box...

JEWELMINT
Jewelry,as a special gift this Holiday Season...Inspired by the runway, vintage jewelry, and on-trend celebrity style, Jewelmint.com offers a versatile jewelry collection each month and recommends pieces that match your personal style.
VARIOUS STYLES/$29.99

Ok,I knew from other blogger that we were going to be getting a piece from Jewelmint in our box this month and I was really excited,I mean BLING?!? Who wouldn't be? I have to admit I'm on the fence about the piece I received.I mean its not hideous, but its also not something I would wear everyday either. I have petite hands, and it is a large ring, which is part of the issue. Oh well, Glossybox, you gave it your best.THANK YOU!

So as you can see, with JUST the ring ($29.99),the box paid for itself.(21.00)

I personally love Glossybox and find it to be a great value. What do you think? Leave me a comment.

Update on BeautyBox5 Review

I had given the eyeshadow a grade of D because of the loose shadow in the lid and my concerns surrounding it. I contacted the company on twitter (@beautybox5) and I received a response right away!
They explained that the sliding type of lid of top on the jar they use, in combination with the extremely fine shadow,it was common for it to sift out. I can attest,it is VERY light, shimmery shadow, almost billowy.

So Im changing the grade. For their lightning fast customer service and easing my mind, I give it a B!
